Thank you for the great response on my first blog! It means the world that you guys are here again and interested in the content I want to put into the world. In addition to posting about health, I want to highlight some fun places to visit. It just so happened that last weekend I went to Yucaipa, a small rustic town tucked away in the California Oak Glen foothills.
All summer long I count down the days until Fall. Colder weather, pumpkin flavored goodies, changing leaves… that’s right up my ally! I participate in several Fall activities, but my favorite is apple picking!
Every October my family, friends and I make a trip to Yucapia. It’s home to dozens of apple orchards and pumpkin patches. As you make your way up the mountain and the city disappears behind you, you enter this quaint little town that is bustling with activity. You’ll find artisans displaying their work, bakeries selling fresh apple pie, and musicians playing their guitar. It’s so unique and beautiful.
My group stops at a few orchards, but the last stop is my favorite. Riley’s Apple Farm is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are spacious, there are apple trees everywhere and pumpkins are ready to pick off the vine. We set up a huge picnic in their grassy fields, eat delicious food (vegan for me, of course!), drink wine and enjoy each other’s company. Eventually we wander off and explore the grounds.
This year as I wandered, I took photos. I hope they get you in the Fall mood. And get ready for some delicious Fall-inspired plant based food coming up! Enjoy!
Can you spot my group picnicking? 🙂
